Valley of The Dee

Life, Photography & Other Mistakes - is now dormant

The Valley of the Dee seen here north of Castle Douglas is an area of lush grazing land where you will see the characteristic Belted Galloways. Beyond the crenelated water tower can be seen the isolated Threave Castle that stands astride an island on the river Dee. A short distance  beyond Threave is the Barrage at Glenlochar where the ten mile long Loch Ken commences. A small part of glorious Galloway seen on 20th June 2012.
